FEB31st began in Italy in 2011 and is still handmade today in the workshops of Val Brembilla. The founders set out to do something most people called impossible, which is exactly where the name comes from. There is no 31st of February on the calendar, and there was supposedly no way to make wooden glasses this beautiful either. They proved otherwise, and they have been refining the craft ever since.
The secret is in the layering. Each frame is built from thirteen wafer thin sheets of wood, bonded with a flexible inner core the brand calls Flexy Soul. It weighs around 21 grams, sits gently against your skin, and is far stronger than it looks. With more than 40 colours to combine, your frame becomes a small piece of wearable design that nobody else will have.
